Equality NC to Gather With Charlotte Community, Partners for Decision Day
LGBT Advocates and Allies to Host Durham Event Following Supreme Court Ruling on Marriage Equality

CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- Equality NC, North Carolina’s largest lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT) advocacy organization, will gather for Decision Day, a public event with community leaders, same-sex couples and allies, partner organizations, and elected officials in Charlotte, N.C., at 6 p.m., on the day of an expected June Supreme Court ruling in Obergefell vs. Hodges, a case that could bring a national resolution to the issue of marriage equality.
This community and media event will take place at Charlotte eatery the Pizza Peel (1600 Central Ave., Charlotte, N.C.)
WHAT: Decision Day gathering for the LGBT and allied communities to react to the Supreme Court’s national marriage equality ruling.
WHEN: 6 p.m., on the day of the ruling.
WHERE: The Pizza Peel, 1600 Central Ave., Charlotte
WHO: Event sponsors include Equality NC, ACLU of NC, LGBT Center of Raleigh, LGBTQ Center of Durham, and the Human Rights Campaign. The event is open to the public and media.

North Carolina won marriage equality on October 10, 2014. Thirteen states still bar the freedom to marry for same-sex couples.
